Why does the app give me a notification when I switch to doing something else on my iPhone or iPad?
On iPads and iPhones, if an app goes into the background it can be stopped by the operating system, which would mean you would no longer get temperature or medicine alerts.
- For instance, if the Bluetooth connection to the sensor is lost for any reason (e.g. the monitored person moves out of range or battery power is low) the phone or tablet's power saving features will stop the app and you won't get temperature or medication alerts.
- The notifications that come up if you put the app in the background while monitoring are simply reminders that alerting could be lost.
- You can just clear the notification in the normal way.
- It is not recommended that you disable notifications for the Celsium app as that will stop lost-connection alerts and medicine reminders too.
Note: It's important to note that if the app is stopped by iOS, the Celsium sensor is still monitoring temperature and will send the temperature readings to your phone or tablet when you next open the app.
