How do I sign up?

When you first use the app, tap the 'Sign up' button at the bottom of the screen.

You must be connected to the internet to sign up.

On Apple devices, at first you will be asked for permission for the Celsium app to use notifications, Bluetooth and Reminders. It is particularly important to allow Bluetooth, otherwise the app cannot work at all. If you deny permission to use notifications or reminders, you will not get temperature alerts, disconnection alerts or medicine reminders unless the app is visible on the screen.

On Android devices if you are signing in for the first time, you will be asked to allow both location access and access to photos and media (or files). Please make sure you allow access -- the app cannot work otherwise. Location access is required on all Android apps that use Bluetooth. Media access is needed for some aspects of sensor management and so that temperature readings can be stored on your device.

  1. Enter an email address and suitable password.
  2. Review and accept the terms and conditions.
  3. Tap the Sign Up button.
  4. Check your inbox for a verification email, then click the link in it to verify your account.
  5. When you've verified, sign in and enter some details about yourself (you can add other users later on).
  6. You're now ready to connect to your Celsium temperature sensor.

Note: If you have a Pixel 3 device and you're using it in 'dark' screen mode, you may find there is no 'Done' button when you enter user details. The button is there, just not visible. You can tap on the top menu on the right-hand side where the button should be, and the page will dismiss. On these devices we recommend signing up with the screen in normal 'light' mode so you don't hit this problem.
